Brent D. Holcombe, CFP®
Founder | Financial Consultant and Wealth Manager
I started my career in the financial services industry at Fidelity Investments in 1993, with no idea how that company would shape my career, and really my life.
During the ensuing decades, I was fortunate to hold many roles at Fidelity. Early on, I worked the phones for Fidelity, helping people choose mutual funds and assisted with trading securities. In that role, I was assigned to a group that traded for Fidelity’s fund managers and senior executives in their personal accounts, which gave me the opportunity to get to personally know some of the biggest names in the industry; I led teams of people for Fidelity Personal Trust Company as well as Fidelity Strategic Advisors, where we helped clients understand and establish professionally managed accounts; I worked for Fidelity Stock Plan Services, where, as a project manager, I helped some of the biggest companies in the country transition their stock plan services over to the Fidelity platform; before taking a position as a wholesaler for Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company, where I educated financial consultants and their clients on the important role that insurance products play in the protection of assets and the success of a financial plan.
Gaining experience in all these roles and departments taught me something very important about myself, and it has become my north star: I take tremendous satisfaction from one-on-one relationship building and helping my clients achieve their financial goals. I count among my most prized possessions the relationships with clients and their families who I’ve been lucky enough to serve. This is what led me to my final role at Fidelity, as a vice president and financial consultant, a role I began in 2008 and held for 18 years. I provided financial planning advice and guidance to over 400 high-net-worth families, including dozens of Fidelity’s own executives and fund managers. I collaborated with each of these households to build individualized investment strategies, all tax-sensitively managed portfolios tailored to their comfort level with risk. I worked with these (often multigenerational) families to help them achieve what was most important to them: funding successful retirements, launching businesses, creating college savings for kids and grandkids, purchasing homes, and ultimately, crafting estate plans and orchestrating the transition of wealth between those generations in the most tax-sensitive way, while the clients were here as well as after they were gone.
All of those clients shared their lives with me. I’ve been alongside them when they made the decision to retire, when their spouses have passed, when their children had children of their own, when the markets were booming, and when the outlook was not so positive. And we’ve crafted strategies together that have helped give them what I believe is worth far more than the money they made: peace of mind.
In 2025 we decided as a family to move to the Mount Washington Valley. Shortly thereafter I retired from Fidelity and decided to “hang out my shingle” here so I can continue to help some of those families that I have personal relationships with and welcome in some new ones. I am thrilled to reside in Albany, New Hampshire, with my lovely wife, Jennifer, and our five amazing children. As a family, we love traveling, hiking, skiing, delighting in the changes of the seasons, and spending summers on the lake at our place in Maine. In my spare time, I’m also an amateur woodworker; I guess I just love the process of building things.
I would love the opportunity to help you build a strategy that brings you peace and prosperity in a volatile world.
